The warm weather has arrived! While I love winter in Perth, I’ve been really looking forward to some sunny, happy weather this year. I started my wardrobe planning a few months ago as usual and found myself in a real Brumby skirt mood from my Perth collection.
After a stressful time for our little family, I finally had some time to myself this week. Predictably, I decided to make something. Chris was a little scared when I pulled out the gold coated denim, but I think the final skirt turned out really well! The one mistake I’m not happy about is the sizing, and it was a stupid one. I didn’t re-measure myself before cutting, assuming I was the same size as a month ago. It turns out I’ve actually lost about 2 inches from my waistline, which I am pretty jazzed about. However, this means the skirt sits way too low, much lower than I normally wear it, and it’s irritating. I may not end up keeping this one for myself. Today’s lesson is to always measure yourself before you begin sewing and never assume anything about your measurements! Also, gold denim is rad. That is all. Hugs to you dears! xoxo
